About MyTinyRider

MyTinyRider exists because ride-on and diecast buying advice was drowning in recycled spec sheets and listicles written to rank, not to help. We took the opposite bet: publish the math, link the sources, and let the data pick the winners.

What we do differently

  • PlayScore™, in the open. Every product is scored 0–100 by a published formula with published weights — see the full methodology, version history included. No editorial overrides, no sponsored placements.
  • Every matchup, computed. We auto-generate a spec-by-spec head-to-head for every product pair in a category — 0 products, 294 comparisons, each with a declared winner.
  • The community’s voice, sourced. Our product pages quantify what real parents and collectors say across forums and Reddit, with every count linked to the original threads — including criticism of products we score well.
  • Honest about limits. We don’t pretend spec analysis is lab testing. What we don’t do yet is on the How We Test page, in plain language.

What’s on the site

Scored reviews across 0 categories, buyer-specific best lists, head-to-head comparisons, free calculators and a ride-on & diecast finder quiz, how-to guides, news, and our Young Rider Spotlights.

Who writes MyTinyRider

MyTinyRider is published by the MyTinyRider Editorial Team. Rather than dress the site up with invented bylines, we’re upfront about how it’s actually made: specifications are researched from manufacturer and authoritative retailer sources, scored by the published PlayScore formula, and the editorial voice — verdicts, pros and cons, community summaries — is written and reviewed by the team against our editorial standards. When we get something wrong, we fix it and say so.

How we make money

Right now, we don’t — MyTinyRider carries no affiliate links, ads, or sponsorships, and nobody pays us to rank or recommend anything (how we’re funded). If we add clearly marked affiliate links later, they still won’t have any input into a score or ranking — the formula doesn’t have a field for them.
